Wiped Out!!!

I just got back from my 45 min work out and I am wiped out...I know its because my body isn't use to working out yet...does anyone use a energy supplement or metabolizer to help them with this problem???I'm looking for something good to take everyday....I'm going to start going to bed earlier tonight....I am really laking in the energy department....and my blood sugar is way off...is that from working out???

POOR Karen!!! It is so hard to get back into exercising when one hasn't done it in awhile. I have never taken anything for energy. I think that your idea of getting more sleep and eating the right foods will go a long ways towards helping you have energy. A multi-vitamin is always good. And water--lots and lots. None of this is new, I jnow. It's one of those where the theory is good, but the application is hard. I hear if you do it long enough you actually begin to like it. I have never gotten that far.

You will like exercise eventually and you will notice that as you keep exercising more regularly and eating the right foods you will get more energy. Of course you need the 8 hours of sleep and I've noticed that after a hard work out if I eat something high in protein, cottage cheese, protein shake, chicken sandwich, I recover faster from the work-out. The blood sugar thing I know well. I had gestational diabetes with Emilee and I had to prick myself 4 times a day and I learned that you look at carbs not sugar grams to determine what's good and bad. The guidelines they have me for meals was between 30-40grams of carbs and for snack 15 grams and to always pair carbs with protein or fat. Hope this helps. Don't stop working out because you're tired. It will get easier. You ROCK

good job karen, i'm glad you got to work out today since you didn't get a chance to go walking with us. I agree with everyone else, just don't overdue it, especially since your not used to it.

Just remember to drink lot's of WATER. That can speed up you metabolism itself. I have the same problem with the blood sugar, especially after I am done with a work out, when you feel shaky, just have a yogurt or something, that will get you through the shakes. That is what I do! The multi-vitamin is a great idea. You could see your doctor about a natuarl metaboliser if you need to.
